The Versatile Harwel Home Lift

Harwel Home Lifts are carefully designed to fit and enhance and wide range of architectural settings and look great in classical through to contemporary environments. The home lifts are all manufactured to the same basic design, including the same quality finishes as the Harwel commercial lifts.

Every home lift is hush quiet, energy efficient and built to the AS1735 lift code. Every Harwel lift has the inbuilt feature that when there is a power failure, the lift automatically lowers to the ground floor and releases the door.

Each Harwel Home Lift can accommodate a wide range of options allowing you the opportunity to have your home lift fit in with your personal decor and residential requirements.

Your fit-out options are numerous and include:

Ceiling finishes come in a variety of options and include LED down lights or concealed lighting alternatives.

Similarly, a variety of wall finishes are available such as satin stainless panels, epoxy finished aluminium panels to your colour of choice and timber veneers & laminates from the standard Laminex or Formica ranges..

Some options chosen by clients have been total mirrored walls, punched stainless with a backlighting effect, glass walls with glass enclosure, coloured glass walls, etc. etc.

The lift car accessories include handrail, mirrors and 4 different style Car operating panels (push button panels).

Full glass with stainless patches, aluminium framed glass, solid timber with slimline glass panel the length of the door, timber veneer etc. Glass is always 10.38mm laminated and can be in clear or tints.

Sliding doors are an option for home lifts. These can be in stainless, framed glass or timber veneer. Centre opening or side opening.

For our swing doors, our standard automatic door closers are concealed or we can supply automatic door openers which are an advantage is confined to a wheelchair. Remote control operation is available in this case as well.

Travel and Speed

Our lifts are designed to travel to a maximum of twelve metres with as many stops as required either same side doors or 'through car design'.

Speed on the home lift ranges from .15 metres per second to .25 metres per second for landing door style only. If car doors are installed the speed can go to .3 metres per second.

Lift Car Size & Shaft Design

The home lift car size can be varied to suit your needs and the constraints of you home. Although the AS1735 lift code states 1.6 metres square it is possible when a client has special needs to design the lift car to meet those needs.

Machinery, Pit & Power

Our controller, and pump unit can be contained in the shaft footprint (motor-roomless). Or in some cases, clients prefer the machinery cabinet to be in an adjacent room to the shaft, e.g. garage, laundry etc. In this case we fabricate a cabinet to suit.

A standard home lift pit is 250mm but we can accommodate pit sizes from 75mm depending on the lift configuration.

Power:

Either 1 phase 240 volt 20amp or 3 phase 415 volt 15amp is possible. With Harwel hydraulic lifts our motors only use 2.2 kw.

Shafts & Enclosures

We offer a variety of shaft and enclosure options. You can supply your own shaft. Because our lifts are self supporting, a timber frame shaft is certainly viable. The code requires the shaft to be clad in a material which cannot be kicked through so 'gyprock' is not an option but 'villaboard', FC sheet, timber lining are all appropriate. A brick or block shaft is of course OK as well.

If you would like us to supply the shaft or enclosure we have a variety of offers here. If it is to be external, we can supply galvanised RHS frame which you can clad or we will clad.

We also build galvanised steel and glass enclosures or we can clad with colorbond or 'mini corodeck' to your colour of choice.

Shafts and enclosures can be discussed in detail and almost every client has a different requirement.
